September 10, 15:00–16:00
TECoSA online seminar with Marjan Sirjani from Mälardalen University and KTH on how nondeterminism can help build more trustworthy cyber-physical systems.
This talk explores how formal verification, model-based analysis, and runtime monitoring can address uncertainty caused by concurrency, timing variations, faults, attacks, dynamic environments, and AI components. Marjan will present examples using the actor-based language Rebeca, including how verification uncovered subtle faults in distributed controller algorithms and how formally verified models can support runtime monitoring and shielding.
