Become a TECoSA affiliated reseracher
The TECoSA affiliated researcher status recognises and connects researchers who actively contribute to the centre’s research agenda alongside its core team. Affiliated researchers strengthen TECoSA’s collaborative network across KTH, other universities, and industry, and help broaden the impact of trustworthy edge computing research.
Who can become an affiliated researcher?
TECoSA affiliated researchers include KTH faculty, adjunct or affiliated faculty, faculty and researchers at other universities and research institutes, and R&D personnel from TECoSA partner organisations — all with active engagement in TECoSA. Their work should fall within TECoSA’s research scope, in particular:
- Predictability of edge computing systems — data-driven performance modelling and optimisation, the device–edge–cloud continuum, and adaptive system design.
- Safety of edge-enabled cyber-physical systems and applications.
- Security of edge computing infrastructures and the services they support.
- Trustworthiness assurance of cyber-physical systems operating in interplay with smart digital infrastructures.
- Industrial edge applications, including 5G/6G networked infrastructures, AI-RAN, and edge testbeds.
- Edge AI — machine learning at the edge, including foundational models, networking optimisation, and automation.
Affiliated researcher status is intended for researchers, senior engineers, and faculty — at KTH or other organisations — engaged in joint activities with TECoSA alongside the centre’s core team.
Why become an affiliated researcher?
- Join the effort to make real impact on trustworthy edge computing together with TECoSA and our partners.
- Be part of our network of researchers and professionals working on predictability, safety, and security of edge systems.
- Initiate, lead, and take part in research activities associated with TECoSA, including agile projects and collaborations.
- Get access to TECoSA’s edge computing testbeds for research, experiments, and demonstrations.
- Get access to TECoSA’s partner network, the TECoSA Research Forum, the TECoSA Seminar Series, and other events.
- Be considered for co-funded activities and joint proposals when relevant calls become available.
- Engage with TECoSA’s industrial partners and contribute to industrial and societal relevance of the research.
- Be presented as part of the TECoSA community — TECoSA intends to publish names and (where applicable) photos of Affiliated Researchers on its website and other channels.
Expectations on affiliated researcher
- Engage yourself and your group in TECoSA activities, projects, and events.
- Use TECoSA as an additional affiliation in publications and other outreach activities, when appropriate.
- Disseminate your research via TECoSA seminars, the Research Forum, the newsletter, the website, and social media channels.
- Contribute to a constructive, collaborative, and open research environment together with TECoSA’s KTH researchers and industrial partners.
- Provide a short annual confirmation of your engagement with TECoSA — including the time you have spent on TECoSA-related activities — so that it can be acknowledged as a matching costs in TECoSA’s reporting to its funding agency. The exact form and scope is agreed individually as part of the application process.
How to apply
There is no formal application form. To apply, send a short email to tecosa-admin@kth.se including:
- Your name, current affiliation, and role.
- A link to your personal or institutional web page, or a short CV.
- If applicable, the name of a TECoSA contact person (KTH researcher or partner contact) who can support your application.
Applications are handled by the TECoSA Management group, normally within a few weeks. Affiliated researcher status is granted for a renewable period and requires continued active engagement with the centre.
