SUMMARY:Research Forum - Recap and Revival
DESCRIPTION:The TECoSA Research Forum was developed and carried out building on best practices for creating a culture for innovation that provides psychological safety\, collective intelligence\, open inclusive dialogue\, and creativity.   Initially the Research Forum was dedicated to PhD students\, and later opened up for the entire consortium.   The sessions from last year were positively received\, and there have been several requests for another event. \nThis Recap and Revival provides an overview of activities so far\, but also has new ingredients – thus a great opportunity if you were not able to join some of the original sessions.  For PhD students that want to apply for credits but missed (some of) the previous sessions\, it’s a chance to catch up. \nAll TECoSA members are welcome to join this one-day event\, which takes place on KTH Campus.  To sign-up\, please respond to the Outlook invitation (sent to the tecosa mailing list 11 April)\, or contact tecosa-admin@kth.se to register.

SUMMARY:TECoSA SME Project and Program Matchmaking Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop has the purpose to promote matchmaking and discussions to formulate SME project proposals.  The TECoSA and Vinnova SME program has dedicated funds for TECoSA SME-partners to engage in research and testbed activities with relevance for TECoSA. \nIn the spirit of TECoSA\, the projects should preferably be collaborative in some way (e.g. with other industrial partners and/or KTH group).  Vinnova provides funds of up to 1 MSEK per year\, the funds for this year are up to now unused. \nThe Call is “always open” and projects may extend over more than one calendar year.  Pre-screening of proposals is carried out by TECoSA directors (Martin and James) and “approved” by the TECoSA board for recommendation to Vinnova \nThe SME program is described here: https://www.tecosa.center.kth.se/member-area/  involving a lightweight process. \nAll TECoSA members are invited to join with the following agenda: \n\nBrief update on the SME program  (for information see : https://www.tecosa.center.kth.se/member-area/)\nPitches by partners\nBreak-out discussions\n\nFor questions\, dont hesitate to come back to Martin Törngren or James Gross. \nWe are aiming for  a physical meeting at KTH campus Valhallavägen\, but with options to join in on-line if needed (contact us if needed)!

SUMMARY:TECoSA Seminar - Fog Computing for Cooperative and Autonomous Driving
DESCRIPTION:We aim to bring you a TECoSA Seminar on the first Thursday of each month during term-time. For Spring 2022\, the talks will be on-line or hybrid. All are welcome to attend and we look forward to some lively discussions. Members can accept the invitations\, non-members can email tecosa-admin@kth.se to register.\nOur May seminar is with Assistant Professor Yu Xiao\, head of Aalto University’s mc² Mobile Cloud Computing Group.  The session will be chaired by James Gross\, and given in Zoom. \nABSTRACT:  The emerging vehicular applications demand for a lot more computing and communication capacity to excel in their compute-intensive and latency-sensitive tasks. Vehicular fog computing is an emerging computing paradigm where computing resources are moved to vehicles or network infrastructure close to vehicles for shortening network latency and reducing ingress traffic to the cloud.  In this talk\, we will introduce the ongoing work at the mobile cloud computing group of Aalto University (mobilecloud.aalto.fi)\, covering fog-powered vehicular applications like vision-based mapping and localization\, deployment of fog nodes in 5G networks\, and data-driven resource and capacity planning for vehicular fog computing.

SUMMARY:TECoSA Members Workshop - The Project Reorganization
DESCRIPTION:All TECosa Members are welcome to participate in this workshop to follow up on the planning and formation of new TECoSA projects\, with use case and testbed orientation.    This is the next step to the work initiated at the 7th Quarterly meeting\, and will be important for continuing the definition of the new projects. \nTakes place at the KTH Department of Machine Design\, Brinellvägen 85.  Note: we are aiming for  a physical meeting\, but can offer a Zoom option upon request ( please contact us if that suits you better)!
