SUMMARY:Embedded Conference Scandinavia\, 4-5 Nov 2020 (postponed)
DESCRIPTION:2020.09.23:  Message from the ECS Organisers: \nIt is with a lot of uncertainty we are now entering the autumn period. The ban against organizing events with more than 50 people remains\, meaning that according to the Swedish government’s current rules\, we are prohibited to arrange the conference. The Swedish Electronics Trade Association and BraMässor therefore regrettably have to inform you that ECS cannot be held on November 4-5\, 2020\, as planned. \nOur ambition is to come back with a new date as soon as it is possible and allowed to organize the conference. Your proposal will be kept on record and we will be in touch as soon as we have any further information. \n  \n2020.06.25 TECoSA is proud to be taking part in this year’s Embedded Conference Scandinavia! \nThe event attracts about 2000 visitors each year\, and there is a lot of focus on communication\, control and security in connected systems. Industrial IoT\, Edge Computing\, AI in various applications\, and of course Data Security are all hot topics. We hope to see you there! \nRegistration opens in September. SUMMARY:TECoSA Seminar - Human-Robot Collaborative Assembly
DESCRIPTION:We aim to bring you a TECoSA Seminar at kl.15 on the first Thursday of each month. This Autumn they will be on-line\, and all are welcome to join. Each invited speaker will talk for about 40 minutes\, followed by a panel discussion coordinated by TECoSA members.\nLihui Wang\nThe second speaker in our series is Professor Lihui Wang\, Chair of Sustainable Manufacturing at KTH\, and Chairman of the Swedish Production Academy\, as well as President of the North American Manufacturing Research Institution (NAMRI). You can read more about Prof Wang’s research here: https://www.kth.se/profile/lihuiw \nPanel: Lei Feng (Chair)\, Niklas Tibblin (Atlas Copco)\, Iolanda Leite (KTH) \nPlease email tecosa-admin@kth.se to register! \nHuman-Robot Collaborative Assembly: The State of the Art and Latest Advancement\nABSTRACT: Human-robot collaboration has attracted increasing attentions\, both in academia and in industry. For example\, in human-robot collaborative assembly\, robots are often required to dynamically change their pre-planned tasks to collaborate with human operators in a shared workspace. However\, the robots used today are controlled by pre-generated rigid codes that cannot support effective human-robot collaboration. In response to this need\, multi-modal yet symbiotic communication and control methods have been developed. These methods include voice processing\, gesture recognition\, haptic interaction\, and brainwave perception. Deep learning is used for recognition\, classification\, and context awareness identification. Within this context\, this seminar provides an overview of the current status of human-robot collaboration including its classification\, characteristics and definition. The focus is placed on the latest advancement on multi-modal robot control and in-situ operator assistance. At the end of the talk\, remaining challenges and future research directions are highlighted. \nDates in the Seminar Series include: 1 October\, 5 November\, 3 December\, 4 February\, 4 March\, 1 April\, 6 May\, 3 June

SUMMARY:Research Forum (Workshop 1)
DESCRIPTION:Culture for innovation\nSuccessful organisations are characterised by a high level of psychological safety\, i.e. a culture where it is possible to take interpersonal risk without any negative consequences. This is needed to create a culture where one can share criticism\, keep an open mind\, listen to each other\, and show social sensitivity – all of which are essential to build collective intelligence and leverage on diversity. \nThe aim of the TECoSA Research Forum is to build a collaborative culture within the Center and help each other to develop our research and innovation skills.  We will do this in steps: \n\nDuring the first interactive online workshop on 20 November\, teams of graduate students will be trained on how to build a research and innovation culture for high collective intelligence as well as learn a method to elaborate and develop their research questions.\nAfter the workshop\, peer-coached teams will continue the learning journey in biweekly meetings.\nThe winter session concludes with a second interactive online workshop on 11 March 2021.\n\nKey focus points:\n‣ How do I create psychological safety?\n‣ How do I help to create collective intelligence?\n‣ Build questioning\, observing\, networking and experimenting capabilities to surface new ideas and research questions. \nFacilitator: Martin Karlsson (martink9@kth.se)
